Velketor Victory

Pictures tell a thousand words. So here it is, a pictorial account of how Sceptered Isle had a great time in taking down Velketor the Sorcerer.

Shadowpuma was a bit scared at first due to it being his first time venturing into the zone Velketor's Labyrinth.

And so everyone made their way up to the meeting point where they then got grouped and buffed. A few key groups then headed off to clear the way for the rest.

Buff me please

In a conveyor belt fashion everyone slipped and slide across the narrow pathways.

Soon the groups came to a castle type place out in a snow covered courtyard. Across from here was a door. Through the door was more areas to be discovered.

Deeper into the Labyrinth the groups came to a stair way. Instructed to go down, everyone did just that.

Once down the stairs it was into a corridor where the first pulls would be made to.

And so the smaller mobs were pulled and killed by the mass force that was there for this raid.

So what was behind this door?

Guess who...

Velketor stood in his throne room along with 2 of his ice golem buddies..

The monks were put to work by splitting the ice golems and velketor (with a little help from the wizards and their eyes).

And once the crystal guardians had been killed it was time for Velketor the Sorcerer. A plan of action was put in place from the help of the Raid Leader Colal and the experienced Sherezadu.

As the monk pulled Velketor out of the room everyone rushed in and got into position (from the picture it seems that everyone wanted their own little space of the room, no matter where it was)... and who was that flying at the top of the image? Lokeye?

Velketor was then brought back to the room where the Main Tanks Turgoshir, Stizok and Sonkit began their tanking rotation. The clerics gave a slight helping hand in keeping them alive :)

The fight went well apart from at one point the cloacked giant was forced out the door and a crystal flappy decided to join in. A quick mez of the add meant that the attention could be maintained on Velketor.

The fight started at 20:39 (Shadowpuma Time)
and finished with 'Velketor the Sorcerer has been slain by Orcman!'
at 20:45 (Shadowpuma Time)

The corpse lay on the ground as everyone congratulated everyone else on a great job. For some it was believed that this could not be done by Sceptered Isle, but to others this was a definite win.

It just goes to show that anything can be accomplished if you all group together and put your mind to the situation at hand. Congratulations everyone.

Just a note for anyone interested...
I am running a PC with a Pentium4 processor at 2.0 GHz
1 Gig of RAM
GForce4 Ti 4600 Graphics Card
NTL Cable Modem - 512 kb
... and in raid situations I can normally have spell effects showing, full models turned on, PC/NPC spell casting and crits turned on, and my lag will never go above 2000.
On this raid however my lag went right through the roof if I was looking at the action. I think it peaked at 7000 at one point or another.
However for a wizard lag is not an important factor. I still get loads of lovely pictures for you to view. If i were a cleric i'd probably be getting shot right about now for letting everyone die.

Group hug

Whilst everyone was celebrating the loot was being decided.
