Emperor Ssraeshza 1st Attempt

Wow, what a night. Another first for Sceptered Isle. Back into the depths of the Ssraeshza Temple to once again attempt to get further than we have done ever before. With new places explored and existing / new monsters slain it was a night to remember.

GUILD MOTD: Colal - SSRAE, move now, heading cursed, channel siemp, meet in basement

With an invitation like that almost everyone rushed down to the basement where they got grouped and buffed ready for the following fights. First up was a glyph covered serpent. The first moments of the battle made me laugh. With everyone buffed Icemana was going through a few last things just before the mob was pulled.

Icemana tells the raid, 'everyone have a SIT/STAND key ready incase you get AE Feign Deathed? To stand up and continue attack that is'
Cyrint tells the raid, 'k follow plz'

** everyone followed Cyrint to a small location behind a wall **

Cyrint tells the raid, 'all casters and melee stay here on inc'
Logian tells the raid, ':::: INC a glyph covered serpent ::::'

** then all of a sudden a large snake like creature appears along with all the casters **

a glyph covered serpent begins to cast a spell.

Cyrint tells the raid, 'NOOO'

With everyone fallen to the ground in convulsions it didn't look like we were off to a good start. The glyph covered serpent headed back up the ramp to his spawn point but what made me really laugh were the amount of pets chasing after it. There must have been a mage pet, a necro pet, a beastlord warder and about 8 Wizard swords, all waddling after this snake. Looking around most people were not expecting such and event and lay there silent on the temple's hard cold floor.

But once the mob had been recovered it was back to killing it ... not quite as planned but near enough.

a glyph covered serpent's corpse rips in two, revealing a greater terror!

Loot from the corpse included:
Black Runed Talisman
Windspeeder
Spell: Speed of the Brood
Spell: Greater Familiar
Spell: Koadic's Endless Intellect

The raid force was already moving onto the next target by the time loot was sorted. Everyone in position and prepared. The next target was Vyzh`dra the Exiled, an even greater terror than the glyph covered serpent.

This fight went very well and all according to plan. Nice positioning of the mob, everyone doing as they should. A nice clean slice in the Temples forces.

Vyzh`dra the Exiled's corpse falls to the ground as new energy fills the room!

Loot from this corpse included:
Shroud of Unholiness
Windspeeder
Spell: Greater Familiar
Spell: Blessing of Aegolism
Spell: Khura's Focusing

Next it was onto the mob that caused Sceptered Isle great problems the last attempt. The next mob to income was Vyzh`dra the Cursed !!

This proved to be quite a long battle. Starting at 21:15:49 and finishing at 21:48:46. A whole 32 minutes 57 seconds of pure intense battle. During this time the battle consisted of tanks dieing, being dragged and rezzed again ready to go back and give it some. There were melee stood in an alcove far, far, far away, using their bows and shurikens to strike the snake from a safe(ish) distance. The clerics and other healing types hidden around the corner, out of sight but not out of healing range. And last of all there were the casters, some hiding, some out in the open, but all using their mana to inflict pain.

Vyzh`dra the Cursed's corpse crashes to the ground. A horrific sound fills the room, but vanishes as quickly as it came.

Tholan grabs hold of Falamorn and begins to dance with him.
Tholan grabs hold of Colal and begins to dance with him.
Migar stands on his tip-toes and does a dance of joy!
Cyrint tells the raid, 'chill down plz and focus on get loot done emp await'

So with the little cycle complete down in the basement it was off up to the top of the temple where Sceptered Isle were going to use their collective Ring of Shissar's to gain access to the Emperor's room. The groups moved up together making sure the path was cleared of all obstacles. Once on the top floor everyone was instructed into the corner of the room where Insignia's dropped from the named Shissar's.

Once in the Insignia Room, a few more insignia's were obtained for people who still needed one. And then a few people were deliberately killed so they could go and obtain their ring's or items that were 'accidentally' left in the bank. Once all were back it was time to clear the way forward and enter the Emperor's Chamber ...

Through the portal we went, clicking it and adding the Ring Of Shissar to our keyrings.

Ring of the Shissar has been added to your key ring.

Which once clicked will transport you to ...

And what must we not do? DO NOT STEP ON THE CARPET !!!

After enquiring it turns out that had anyone stepped on the circular shape in the centre of the room then an AE would have been cast wiping out the whole room. Not something you want to happen, especially after all the trouble we've gone through to get this far. So following instructions from Icemana and Cyrint the groups moved around the room carefully. First to go were the Crowd Control groups. One went LEFT, and then the other went RIGHT. However, it turned out the mobs that people had been assigned were in fact on the opposite sides of the room to them. So after a quick swap it was back to the plan.

image: relative to the report
Group Crowd Control 1 and 2 make their way into the Emperor's Chamber. I hope that door closing behind them isn't permanent!

So once the first groups were in position and all pre-targeted up it was time for the rest to enter the chamber. What a wondrous sight to behold. The room consisted of 8 snakes stood on mystical symbols surrounding a giant golem enriched in bright lights under the watchful eyes of a non-targetable Emperor Ssraeshza.

Icemana really does have a death wish ...

Icemana tells the raid, 'you have 18sec to get all mobs off me, that should be enough. We do not have to kill any mobs now, just get it under control'

And with this said he rushed into the middle of the room, agro'd everything in sight and headed back towards the groups. Obviously having much trust in his fellow guild members (and so rightly too) all the snakes were pulled off him and mezzed in the corners by the enchanters, whilst Stizok stepped up and grabbed the golem by the ankles and began taunting and bashing away.

Blood of Ssraeshza executes a FLURRY of attacks on Stizok!

image: relative to the report

So, to recap, we have the enchanters mezzing a total of 8 snakes, 4 in each corner, and a few MT's getting a few hits in on Blood whilst being healed. Everyone else is stood in the entrance hall watching ...

Once the order was given everyone joined in the fight against Blood of Ssraeshza and got him down to 24% before being told to disengage, all but the main tank. More instructions were given as to how the battle before us would proceed. Everyone got into position and the last piece of life left in Blood was beaten out of him.

Blood of Ssraeshza's corpse falls and slowly melts into a pool of dark blood, covering the stone floor.

Loot was on the corpse of Blood of Ssraeshza, but everyone was so engrossed in waiting for Emperor Ssraeshza to become active that the loot was all overlooked.

The loot that happened to drop included ...

But just as it was going to all be sorted the Emperor became active.

Emperor Ssraeshza goes on a RAMPAGE!
Orcman tells the raid, 'OMG ORCMAN IS ON RAMPAGE'
Emperor Ssraeshza says 'Your god has found you lacking.'
Orcman has been slain by Emperor Ssraeshza !

And so the plan that we originally had was slightly wrong and Emperor Ssraeshza started to pick us off one by one. For a while the chaos died down and it was under control. People were beginning to get rezzed again and back into the fight but with the Emperor only down to 96% and most of the raid force dead on the ground it was only a matter of time before everyone would follow suite.

Can you spot your corpse?

So, it was a superb first attempt and now with a little bit more knowledge and a bit more enthusiasm in getting the key parts, soon the whole of Sceptered Isle will be facing this mob again and will eventually become victorious.
